Freaky in 2003 But It Got Freakier in Fridays in 2025 💫

OK… confession time 😅 Feeling extremely guilty in 2025 because I’ve only managed to post two blog posts here so far. With the help of Chatgpt, I am being honest, at least I can start to blog more. It seemed that I have a huge writer's block nowadays. As I got older, penning down something random without overthinking is much more difficult. (Please check at the end of the post for a collage video I made for actors in 2003 and 2025) One was to remember, my deceased blogger friend, Twilightman 👉 Here . This post is to review and revisit my teenage years of watching Freaky Friday 2003 (FF03).  So when Disney officially announced Freakier Friday (2025) (FF25) — the long-awaited sequel to Freaky Friday (2003) — my first reaction was: 👉 Wait… is this real, or just another Hollywood nostalgia scam? Yes, a gap of 22 years, having the same cast as a sequel instead of a remake. But beyond the nostalgia, this sequel feels symbolic — especially for Lindsay Lohan . After more than 15 year...

I think I am finally old (31, soon 32), because unrealistic dramas no longer excite me. Crash Landing on You, played by my male god (#HyunBin #玄彬) as Jung Hyuk and pretty girl (#SonYeJin #孙艺珍) as Se-ri, was a military fantasy love drama, which indeed was too good to be true. Let’s be realistic the probability of Se-ri got drifted by a tornado, and survived the crash, and then met with the love of her life, was almost equal to 0.001 %. To make it more magical, he actually saved her before this in Switzerland…., That’s like fate of life (0.00001 %). But, I cannot deny the beauty of Switzerland, and this drama really took the real view of this awesome European country.

Personally, I love the scenes from manmade North Korea, which show how a communism country to be like. The feel was so close to my heart, how my kampong (village) was like. No advanced television, no water heater, but we stayed as a nice and warm family.  Yet, the poverty side of the story still teared me up because of starving siblings who lost their parents. That's the truth around the world.

Then, when they moved the storyline to Seoul, it just completed felt unfit and boring. More importantly, the storyline with his bro’s murder was so easily solved. And, the main antagonist easily ran off to Seoul.....and tried to murder Se-ri......

Nonetheless, let me summarise the point that I love and hate.

  • Love: Hyun Bin is my male god.
  •  Hate: He needs to change his role (avoid to be prince-charming like)
  • Love: Kim Jung-Hyun is very very hot
  •  Hate: The supporting storylines were a bit weak
  • Love: The cameo appearances by Kim Soo-Hyun and Choi Ji-woo were very much awesome
  • Hate: Overall, the ending was a bit predictable and anti-climax
