Part 2 - Cast Now and Then of Freaky Friday - The Parents Group

Part 1 - Part 1 - Freaky in 2003 But It Got Freakier in Fridays in 2025 💫 [Schedule: 12/30/25] Part 2 - Cast Now and Then of Freaky Friday - The Parents Group [Schedule: 22/1/26] Part 3 - Cast Now and Then of Freaky Friday - The Teenage Group [Schedule: 29/1/26] It still feels weird to watch Freakier Friday in 2025 . Because, I truly did not feel like time past so fast. Can you believe that it has been 22 years! Oh my god, 2 decades and I am an uncle now. The cast were quite well-known 22 years ago, in the 90s and early 2000s. But oddly—and unsurprisingly—they slowly faded away over time, even though they continued acting after that. That’s how I view life now: we don’t need to be in our prime constantly. For a normal person, they might peak once or twice in life—mostly once, I guess. Some don’t even peak and just drift away, unnoticed. Seeing the actors back in the movie somehow reminded me of my younger self—full of vibrancy and hope. Nowadays, I’m not as verbal as I used to be ...

Chinese New Year Celebration @ Gao Ren Guan (高人馆) Jaya One

Okie, I know I know, Chinese New Year celebration, was super long ago. Backlogging syndrome has been quite serious nowadays because I was so busy with my studies last time. Now, I have a bit of myself time and start to update more. There are just so many stories pending, but I am taking my own sweet time! This time around, CNY, my coursemate and I went a Chinese Restaurant, Gao Ren Guan (高人馆), at Jaya One.

Actually, to be honest, you can order any Lou Sang in any Chinese restaurant at least half a month before or after CNY. Typical, Lou Sang contains a lot marinated and dried items such as sweet veges, gingers, crunchy biscuit and smoked salmon. Those were actually not that healthy and if the salmon was to be too raw, there could be high possibility of worm in the body (><). But, as an annual affair, we, Chinese, love to Lou Sang, as a ceremony to have a great year ahead !

The famous and must-order in this restaurant was the braised stuffed beancurd (left). This dish was quite tasty, because it contained seasoned, juicy and minced meat. While the herbal chicken soup (right) was quite nice, and out of the expectation, even though the chicken meat was a bit though. Nonetheless, it was very scrumptious.

To balance our diets, we also ordered the kailan (or Kale ?). But, since it was CNY period, we increased our eating quota. hahahaha, because the crispy Nam Yu Pork was the best of the best!!!! Because the pork was pretty much well-seasoned and fried appropriately, we really enjoyed this dish!  All and all, it was a great gathering for you and I believed that after this, we would most probably gather less since everyone has their own plan to move on (><).......Life goes on!

Ipoh Boysigning out!

  1. So nice to enjoy CNY meal with a big feast consisting scrumptious dishes.
I cannot celebrate CNY for 3 years owing to both my parents demise one after another. So I headed to Sapporo instead for CNY. Now thinking where to head for next CNY.
