Blogwalking Days, Lasting Friendships – In Memory of Twilightzone518

Saying Goodbye to Twilightzone518 – The TwilightMan I have not been a very good blogger—my last update was a while ago, on an Ipohboytech story about Blogger Apps Review . Nonetheless, I’ve decided to split my content more clearly moving forward: Ipohboymedia → Media / Technology / Entertainment / News Ipohboyjourney → Personal Shopping Experience / Movie / Life / Food / Travel But today, I return with some sad news I stumbled upon in August 2025. It took me a while to pen down my feelings as it still felt unreal, so here it is in my Ipohboylife storytelling mode. Blogging Days and Blogwalking Culture Back in the early days of the internet, when blogging and microblogging were the heart of “social media,” we bloggers had our own unique culture. One of the most popular was blogwalk or bloghop . We would visit each other’s blogs, leave comments, and often ask for return visits. It wasn’t just about boosting traffic—it was fun, and it built real connections. In August 2025, while...

$0.00 USD Way To Revive My Dying Samsung Note5

This post is purely shared based on personal experience, not a paid ads nor affiliated post. Any tips resulting in mobile phone damage will not be held responsible by Mr. X.

It was purely accidental, when I was looking for the sync of Sticky Note (a very well-know note taker from Windows) across my devices. Then, a miracle happened when I found an apps called "Microsoft launcher". This was quite ironic and funny, because I just wanted to sync the notes into My SUPER DUPER OLD SAMSUNG NOTE 5. So, I had gone through the sea deep and sky high, just to integrate Sticky Note into my dying Samsung Note 5.

Well, I used to be quite a tech geek, but time took that away, which was something I needed to rekindle. At first, I was just planning to switch between interfaces (TouchWiz Samsung & Windows Launcher), which was totally troublesome just to get my note contents on the phone. Then, I dug a lot deeper into the info regarding my Samsung Note 5 launcher, and to my dismay and surprise, Samsung Note 5 manufactured in 2015, even with Nougat OS, this beauty was still equipped with the obsolete Touchwiz (While currently, the new phones are using Samsung Experience or One UX). Problems I faced with TouchWiz by Samsung:
  • Every time, after restarting the device, I had a hard time keying in the pin. Yes, imagine you can never login with pin while your fingerprint is temporarily overwrote by pin.
  • The change between apps, is ridiculously slow. Yes, very slow
  • Screen can be irresponsive until I need to close all apps.
  • It is very hard to move apps and group them together, with a maximum of 9 apps per group view.

Common Strategy

I did a lot. I mean a lot of reading online to re-boost my Note 5. But to date, the following methods have either been temporarily or not effective at all:
  • Clear cache (very very temporarily)
  • Soft reset (over time, the phone will continue to lag)
  • Factory reset (again, after 1 month, with images, the phone will lag again)
  • Ensure phone memory at least 1 GB free space, else it will start to jam up

4.5/5 stars by #IpohboyJourney #Ipohboygossip

After trying the Microsoft Launcher (Downloading Size: 14 MB), it was fantastic in term of interface feeling and definitely the speed! The customisable home-screen and pages are very convenient. Albeit, the overly sensitive on the touching speed, everything was so good that I set Microsoft Launcher as the default now. Pros are:
  • Smooth interface and used up very less memory and storage
  • Wallpaper auto-change feature made my days jolly.
  • Customise the icon design, size, and colour!
  • Most importantly, you can group up to 10 icons on one view (this save a lot of my view space)

However, I did notice a few bugs with this launcher. Cons are:
  • Apps cannot show notifications on the apps icons (bummer)! This is very very important. But then, again it feels less distracting as well, since I am a bit of OCD on the clearing the red numbers
  • The design of UX is very very highly changeable, and grouping of apps is quite convenient. However over time you can feel a bit of lagness when opening those rarely used apps.

Do share with me under the comment section if you have other great tips (^^) .
