Legendary Cowan Street Beansprout Chicken | 高温街芽菜鸡 @ Ipoh [Non-Halal]

Ever since the attack by keyboard warriors on the “ Hishiko Woo Summoned Deity Issue ”, my will to blog has been rekindled and thanks to the virality of the post, it reached around 800 views in 4 days. It might not be a huge deal for you, because 800 views are like peanuts on social media like Facebook, Instagram and especially TikTok. But for a dying blogging culture, it is considered another humble milestone for my underrated small bloggie. Revisiting Kei Dak Sek (KTZ) Dessert (记得吃) @ Kepong Baru 2017

Many many years ago, I brought my parents to this hidden jewel in Kepong (which was not really well-known back then), like about 6 year ago. Ever since, whenever my parents hear of Kepong, they would always mention about the 杂雪 (Ice Kacang in Ipohrian Cantonese), or 杂冰 (Ice Kacang in KL Cantonese). You see, the cultural difference even in the same country, but, that just made us, Malaysians, unique in our own way! (Anyway, Ipoh Cantonese rocks!). LOL~ This time around, we re-visited this Kei Dak Sek (记得吃)or Remember to Eat Dessert Shop in Kepong Baru.

Years gone by, KTZ still stood exactly the same as 5 years ago. The same table arrangement, the same shop with no air-con, which was just located by the end of the road. You can easily spot the shop when you are in this area! As we sat down, it was more than easy to decide what to order, though other delicacies such as noodles, fried stuffs, sesame paste dessert and peanut paste dessert., are available.

Definitely, we ordered their signature kiwi ice . As you can see from the 1st pic, the prices of the desserts were actually more or less the same. However, my parents and I noticed the smaller bowls were used.....Yeah, smaller portion (><). To honest, kiwi ice was not really sweet at all, and a bit sourly nice. My mom totally loved the taste!

As usual, the mango ice was a sweet taste of heaven. In fact, they retained their qualities over the years, despite giving slightly smaller portions. But, to our surprises, the best ice among the ones we ordered, was the red-bean ice with cashew nuts. Oh yeah! Instead of high level of sweetness, we tasted a fine mixture of red-bean, with slight twist with the presence of the cashew nuts. So, for this bowl of awesomeness, Ipohboy gives a big THUMB UP, with high recommendation!

Overall, our rating for the three bowls, were Red-bean ice (4.5/5), Mango ice (4/5) and Kiwi (4/5).

Thus, is weekend today, be sure to try-out yourself! Have a fun foodie day!
